Puerto Rico, connected.

About the Network

Mi PR Network is a group of digital tools built in Puerto Rico, by Puerto Ricans, for our own people. It is not a franchise or a translated version of something from elsewhere: every piece started from something people here put up with every day.

Why it exists

Everyone here has stood in the wrong line. Everyone has turned up at the CESCO one document short and had to come back another day. Everyone has opened ten different sites hunting for the same job. Everyone has pulled out their phone calculator for a sum any decent app should have done on its own.

It is not that the world is short of technology. It is that the world's technology was not built with us in mind. Land here is measured in cuerdas, and no calculator on the internet knows what a cuerda is. The Christmas bonus is law on this island and almost nowhere else, so nobody abroad has bothered to program it. And when the power goes out — and it goes out — you need to know which generator will keep the fridge alive; we have done that sum ourselves too, on paper, in the dark.

With work it hurts more. Some of the best openings on the island are federal and arrive written in English. People who have spent their whole lives searching in Spanish simply never saw them. It was not that they did not qualify. They never found out.

That is where Mi PR Network came from: the simple, stubborn idea that the things we use every day should be built with us in mind. All 78 of our towns, not five. Both our languages, because that is how we speak. Our way of living, which belongs to nobody else.

None of this is hard to build. What is hard is caring enough to sit down and do it. I care because this is my island and these are my people.

Built here, for here

Everything is designed in Spanish and English from day one, because that is how life works here. It is tested against all 78 municipalities, not the usual five: somebody living in Maricao or Culebra deserves the same tool as somebody in San Juan. Listings that arrive in English get translated. The calculators measure in cuerdas when cuerdas are what you measure in. That is not localising somebody else's product; it is starting from here.

What we do

Practical tools for everyday things in Puerto Rico: finding a job, understanding a government process, running a calculation, finding a tradesperson, looking for a home and buying from businesses here. Each one does a single thing, and does it properly.

Six pillars

Work, paperwork, tools, services, housing and local commerce. Each pillar has its own product and its own identity; together they form one network you can move through without starting over.

No account, no small print

Nothing here requires signing up, handing over an email, or carrying one more account around. The Android app collects nothing from your phone: the counter that tracks which products you open lives on your own device and disappears the day you uninstall it. There is enough paperwork on this island without a website asking for more.

What this site does NOT do

Mi PR Network does not publish jobs, guides, calculators, provider profiles, properties or product catalogues. Its job is to explain the network, help you find the right product and send you there. Everything else lives inside each product, which is where it belongs.

Where it goes

The network is built to grow without being rebuilt. MiPR Market is next, so that buying from our own is as easy as buying from anyone else. After that comes whatever is needed, because I do not write the list: it is written by whatever our people are still missing.
