When two of them look right
These are the four cases where they genuinely get confused, and why. If your doubt is one of these, it is settled here.
An electrician: MyPRJobs or MiPR Servicios?
It depends which side of the table you are on.
If you want to hire an electrician for a one-off job — swap a panel, fix a breaker — that is MiPR Servicios. You search by trade and by town, and whoever does it nearby comes back.
If you are an electrician looking for work, that is MyPRJobs. There is a construction category and a maintenance one, and government and private openings come back in the same list.
The short rule: MiPR Servicios is for a job of work; MyPRJobs is for a position.
A mortgage: MiPRCasa or MyPRTools?
Both, and in this order.
MyPRTools first, to know what you could pay monthly. The mortgage calculator gives you the figure before you fall for a house.
MiPRCasa after, to search inside that figure and to understand the process: which documents are needed, what happens at closing and which costs appear that nobody mentions at the start.
Neither of them lends you money. That is your bank or your co-op.
Solar panels: MyPRTools or MiPR Servicios?
Both again, and again in order.
MyPRTools has the solar savings calculator and the electricity use one: they are for deciding whether it suits you before anybody arrives to sell you something.
MiPR Servicios has the solar trade by municipality: that is for who installs it once you have decided.
Doing it the other way round — calling first and working out the numbers after — is how people sign contracts they do not understand.
A federal government procedure: MiPRFácil or MyPRJobs?
MiPRFácil, unless the procedure is applying for a job.
MiPRFácil explains procedures: documents, agencies, costs, steps. It does not matter whether the agency is federal or Commonwealth.
MyPRJobs only comes in when what you are after is a federal job opening. There is a dedicated category for exactly that, and many of those listings arrive in English and come back translated.
The confusion comes from both things happening on government sites. But one is paperwork and the other is work.
What none of them do
Worth saying once and plainly, for all six at the same time.
- None of them charges. There is no account to create, no payment plan, and no card details asked for anywhere in the network.
- None of them files on your behalf. They explain, search or calculate; the procedure you carry out yourself, at the agency or with the right person.
- None of them gives legal, tax or financial advice. They give you information and figures; the decision and the responsibility are yours.
- None of them sells your data. The only thing ever asked for is an email, and only if you want to be told about something.
